The work to be done under this contract consists of furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to remove and replace existing pavements on streets, sidewalks, driveways, and the like in the City of Carbondale. All work shall be in accordance with the contract documents, plans, specifications, and as directed by the Engineer or his representative.
Bids will be received until 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 9, 2022, by mail or delivered by hand to the Finance Department Purchasing Office, City of Carbondale, 200 South Illinois Avenue, Carbondale, Illinois, immediately after which time and at such place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
The Project is also subject to the State of Illinois Job Works Jobs Program Act and the Illinois Works Apprentice Initiative.
Contractor shall not pay less than the prevailing rates of wages to all laborers, workmen, and mechanics performing work under this contract, and shall comply with the requirements of the Illinois Wages of Employees on Public Works Act (820ILCS 130/1-12).
No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of forty-five (45) days subsequent to the opening of bids without consent of the City of Carbondale.
The Contract shall be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder complying with the provisions of this Invitation for Bids. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive any informality or technicality in any proposal in the interest of the City.
Bid Documents may be obtained by contacting the City’s Purchasing Office at (618) 457-3231 for a non-refundable deposit of $50.00 beginning on May 16, 2022, at 10:00 a.m.
