1. When and where are the City Council meetings?

All regular meetings will be held in the Carbondale Civic Center, 200 South Illinois Avenue, Carbondale, Illinois, beginning at 6:00 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, unless otherwise noted.

2. May I address the City Council during a City Council Meeting?

If you wish to address a City Council agenda item, you may do so after the Mayor calls for public comment during the meeting.

3. Are City Council meetings televised?

CityVision 16 is a governmental cable channel owned and operated by the City of Carbondale. CityVision keeps you up-to-date with meeting announcements for Carbondale City Council, Park District, Public Library, Elementary School District 95, High School District 165, and City Boards, Commissions and Committees. Meetings are televised live and rebroadcasted at various times on the City’s channel. City Council meetings are also streamed on the City’s website and on Facebook.

4. How can I place an item on the City Council Agenda?

To request an item to be placed on the City Council agenda you must contact a Council member or the Mayor. Upon full review, the item may be placed on the agenda at the Council member or Mayor's discretion.

5. How do I apply for a liquor license?

Liquor License information is available in the City Clerk's Office at 618-457-3281.

6. How do I register to vote?

To register to vote, you must:

• Present two forms of identification
• At least one I.D. must include the person’s name and current Jackson County address
• The second form of ID needs to only include the person’s name

7. How do I obtain a copy of the City Council Agenda?

A copy of the City Council Agenda may be obtained through Board Docs or at the City Clerk's office located at 200 S. Illinois Avenue. Final City Council Agendas can also be viewed in the Agenda Center.
