Unlawful Possession of a Firearm Investigation
Carbondale - On 04-23-23 at 3:42 a.m. City of Carbondale police officers responded to the 600 block of East Park Street regarding a report of shots fired. As officers arrived, several vehicles were leaving the area and an unknown male was seen hiding a backpack under a car prior to entering a residence. Officers recovered the backpack and found it contained a firearm. Officers eventually relocated the suspect and he was identified as Kyle M. Day, 31 of Carrier Mills. Day was arrested for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and incarcerated in the Jackson County Jail. The investigation is active and ongoing.
