FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CARBONDALE – Join us for an update on the Cedar Lake Recreation Plan and contribute your valuable feedback towards upcoming revisions. On Thursday, April 6th, from 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., we're hosting a public input opportunity at City Hall. At the meeting, City staff and plan design consultants will present the draft plan and welcome your feedback.
This is the second public input opportunity for the Cedar Lake Recreation Plan. Based on comments received at the first meeting on February 7th, we've created this updated draft plan to be considered at meeting #2.
The Cedar Lake Recreation Plan outlines how we'll use and improve the City-owned portion of Cedar Lake, including Poplar Camp Beach, the Carbondale boat launch, some existing trails, and forested open space.
This plan will guide us in providing long-term low-impact recreation opportunities for residents and visitors. City staff have been working on this project since October 2022, and are excited to share their progress with you!
If you can't make it, please email your comments to maryjeanne@hutchisonsolutionsllc.com by April 17th, 2023. We'll consider all comments and present an official recreation plan to the Council in Spring 2023.
“Carbondale prides itself on providing its visitors, students, businesses and residents with a unique mix of edge and ease. It’s a cultural town, yet free of pretense, embracing the great outdoors as readily as urban sophistication. Here, we are open to new ideas, experiences and cultures, so you are encouraged to both express yourself and be yourself, in all ways. That’s Carbondale…All Ways Open… for family, fun, business, new ideas and a bright tomorrow.”
