[ARCHIVED] Unlawful Sale of Firearms Investigation

NEWS RELEASE
 City of Carbondale, Illinois
 January 25, 2023

CARBONDALE - On 01-24-2023, City of Carbondale police officers executed a search warrant at a residence in the 700 block of South Lewis Lane. During the search, officers arrested Darrion J. Clark, 23, of Carbondale, on a Jackson County arrest warrant for Unlawful Sale of Firearms, Unlawful Use of Weapons, and Unlawful Purchase of a Firearm. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Clark as a result of information gained from several ongoing investigations involving the use of firearms recently occurring in Carbondale. During the search warrant, officers also arrested Delvon D. Bennett, 23 of Harvey, IL. on an arrest warrant for drug possession out of Indiana and Lukyan K. Traylor, 26 of Carterville, for an arrest warrant out of Jackson County for Burglary. As a result of the search warrant, detectives charged Clark with additional counts of Unlawful Purchase of Firearms, Unlawful Sale of Firearms, Gun Running, and Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance. Clark, Bennett and Traylor were incarcerated in the Jackson County Jail. The investigations remain active and ongoing.
