Aggravated Battery with a Firearm Investigation  

CARBONDALE – On 10/27/22 at approximately 4:32 a.m., City of Carbondale Police Officers responded to the 700 block of South Rawlings Street in reference to shots fired.  The officers located an individual who sustained gunshot wounds and they immediately began life saving efforts. The Jackson County Ambulance Service responded and transported the victim to Memorial Hospital of Carbondale for treatment. The preliminary information learned from the investigation indicates the involved parties are all known acquaintances of each other.  There is not any suspect information and no known threats to release at this time. The investigation is active and ongoing.
