Burglary to Motor Vehicle Arrest
On 07-06-22 at 2:21 a.m., City of Carbondale police officers responded to the 800 block of East Grand Avenue regarding a report of a vehicle burglary in progress. Officers found the suspect in the act of stealing items from a vehicle. The suspect fled from officers on foot and officers captured him after a short pursuit. The suspect was identified as Troy E. Johnson, 58 of Carbondale. He was found in possession of property believed to have been stolen from other vehicles in addition to the vehicle he was seen burglarizing. Officers charged Johnson with Burglary to a Motor Vehicle and Resisting a Police Officer. After consulting with the Jackson County State’s Attorney’s Office, Johnson was incarcerated in the Jackson County Jail. The investigation into the incident is continuing.
