On 05-07-22 at 2:02 a.m., City of Carbondale police officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation on West Freeman Street near the intersection with South Poplar Street. During the course of the investigation, officers arrested the passenger, Keenan Parson, 27 of Marion, IL. on a Jackson County Traffic Warrant. Officers found a firearm reported stolen out of Tennessee and an illegal amount of cannabis inside the vehicle. Officers arrested the driver, Ricky Henry, of Murfreesboro TN. for Aggravated Unlawful Use of Weapons, Possession of Stolen Firearm, and Possession of Cannabis 30-500 grams. Officers charged Parson for the warrant, Possession of Cannabis 30-500 grams and Violation of Bail Bond. Henry and Parson were incarcerated in the Jackson County Jail. The investigation is active and ongoing.
