Welcome, Carbondale! Mural Project

Artspace 304 News Release (5-3-2022)

CARBONDALE - Artspace 304 announces a new initiative of the Southern Illinois Mural Project, Welcome, Carbondale! In collaboration with the City of Carbondale, SIUC, local businesses, and private donors, the community is investing $50,000 to create five public murals located on selected buildings at the entry points of Carbondale. Artspace 304 is accepting applications from individual artists (ages 18+) and teams of artists (ages 15+, with adult supervision) who are Illinois residents until May 25.

Interested artists can ask questions and learn more information at a virtual meeting held on May 10 (details to be announced on the Welcome, Carbondale! website). Mural finalists will be submitted for a public review and vote in the Corridor Gallery at the Carbondale Civic Center from June 15-June 30.
