[ARCHIVED] Reckless Discharge of a Firearm Investigation

On 04-30-22 at 2:16 a.m., City of Carbondale police officers responded to the 500 block of South Illinois Avenue in reference to a report of a fight in progress.  Officers made a quick response and determined the suspects already fled from the area.  While investigating the reported fight, officers heard several shots fired from what was determined to be the 200 block of West College Street.  Officers responded to that area and found the suspects already fled from the area.  No injuries or property damage were reported as a result of the incident.  The investigation is active and ongoing.
