[ARCHIVED] Reckless Discharge of a Firearm Investigation

On 02-10-22 at 9:26 p.m., City of Carbondale police officers responded to the 200 block of South Hewitt Street in reference to a report of shots fired.  Officers determined the suspects had already left the area in an unknown direction of travel.  The investigation revealed damage to a residence.  No one reported any injuries as a result of the incident.  Witnesses reported seeing a light colored vehicle in the area at the time of the incident and then later leaving at a high rate of speed.  The investigation is currently active and ongoing.  Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the police department at (618) 549-2121 or Crime Stoppers at 618-549-2677.
