Chief Stan Reno announces that the Carbondale Community Christmas Store is in operation once again at the Carbondale Police Department for the 20th year. Each year the Christmas Store along with the Coats for Kids program, provides coats and toys for children ages 1 thru 10 from Carbondale. The Christmas Store is a way for the Police Department and the community to help those families in need from our own town. We are accepting donations of new toys and coats in the lobby of the Carbondale Police Department and the Civic Center Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Coats can also be dropped off at the SIU Men’s and Women’s basketball games thru December 4th. Financial donations from individuals or groups can also be dropped off at the Carbondale Police Department. Chief Stan Reno said, “Together we can make a difference for children in need in the Carbondale community. The staff and police officers with the Department are proud to continue this initiative to help provide for families during the holiday season.” The Carbondale Police Department appreciates all those who are able to partner with us during this charitable time of year.
