Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm Investigation

On 11-16-21 at approximately 12:05 a.m., City of Carbondale police officers responded to the area of the 400 block of East Chestnut Street in reference to a report of shots fired.  Officers learned that a suspect described as a black male fired several gun shots at a group of nearby people.  There were no injuries reported as a result of the incident. Officers located a car with related damage. Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the Police Department at 618-457-3200 or Crime Stoppers at 618-549-COPS.  The investigation into the incident is active and ongoing.
