[ARCHIVED] Aggravated Unlawful Use of Weapon Investigation

On 11-08-21 at 10:21 am, City of Carbondale police officers responded to the area of the 1000 block of East Main Street in reference to a report of a road rage incident where a firearm was displayed by the passenger of the suspect vehicle.  During the course of the investigation, officers located and stopped the suspect vehicle.  The passenger, Amari T. Ross, 20 of Herrin,  was found to be in possession of a stolen firearm.   Ross was arrested and charged with Aggravated Unlawful Use of Weapon and Possession of a Stolen Firearm.   Ross was incarcerated at the Jackson County Jail.  Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the Police Department at 618-457-3200 or Crime Stoppers at 618-549-COPS.  The investigation into the incident is active and ongoing.
