[ARCHIVED] Home Invasion, Armed Robbery, Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm and Aggravated Assault Investigation

On 10-12-21 at approximately 9:20 p.m., City of Carbondale Police Officers responded to the 1200 block of West Main Street, in reference to an incident initially reported as a disorderly conduct.  The investigation revealed, the suspect entered the room where the victim was staying, displayed a firearm and demanded property.  The suspect took property from the victim and fired a single shot, causing damage to property.   The suspect left the area northbound on foot.  During the course of the investigation, officers identified the suspect as Corey M. Williams, age 32 of Carbondale.  No injuries were reported as a result of this incident.  Anyone with information about Williams’ whereabouts or the incident should contact the Carbondale Police Department at 618-457-3200. The investigation is currently active and ongoing.
