[ARCHIVED] Armed Robbery Investigation

On 09/24/21, City of Carbondale Police Officers investigated a report of an armed robbery near the intersection of West Main Street and South Poplar Street that took place on 09/23/21 at approximately 11:45 p.m.  Officers learned the victim was robbed by two black males who were wearing black clothing and armed with handguns.  The suspects took property belonging to the victim then ran away, with one running south on South Poplar and the other east on West Main.  No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.   Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the Police Department at 618-457-3200 or Crime Stoppers at 618-549-COPS.  The investigation into the incident is active and ongoing.
