[ARCHIVED] Aggravated Battery with a Firearm

On September 3, 2021 at approximately 1:34 p.m., Carbondale Police Officers responded to the 300 block of South Cedarview Street in reference to reports of gunshots and a gunshot victim. Officers found a gunshot victim with non-life threatening injuries.  Officers treated the victim at the scene along with the Jackson County Ambulance Service.  The victim was then taken to and treated at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.  The suspect may have fled the area in a grey SUV.   There is not any additional suspect information to provide at this time and the victim is not being identified.  Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the Police Department at 618-457-3200 or Crime Stoppers at 618-549-COPS.  The investigation into the incident is active and ongoing.
