On 08/14/21 at approximately 7:38 p.m., City of Carbondale Police Officers responded to a report of gunshots in the area of the 1000 block of East Grand Avenue. Officers located an adult male with a serious gunshot wound and he was transported to the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale for treatment. The investigation revealed, a fight occurred between a group of known acquaintances and one of the persons involved shot the victim. The suspect in this shooting is identified as Theras Kejuan Heard, 38 of Carbondale. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Heard for charges of Aggravated Battery with a Firearm. Heard should be considered armed and dangerous.
