[ARCHIVED] Attempted Theft Investigation

On 11-05-20 the City of Carbondale Police Department was made aware of two suspicious people who were trying to steal items from a person’s mail box and vehicle.  The victim had his personal data hacked at his place of employments and learned the suspects filed for unemployment in victim’s name.  It is believed the suspects then came to his house looking for the unemployment benefits in the mail box.    The suspects are reported to be 1) a white male, 6’05”, with a red beard and a gray hooded sweatshirt; 2) a black male with long dreads, wearing a blue t-shirt with red sleeves and baggy jeans.  The suspects were confronted by the victim and they fled the area in a cream colored Chrysler 300.  Anyone with information about this incident or the possible suspects is encouraged to contact the City of Carbondale Police Department at (618) 457-3200.  The investigation is continuing.
