[ARCHIVED] Home Invasion Investigation

On 04-28-2020 at approximately 5:13 a.m., Carbondale Police Officers responded to the 900 block of West Sycamore Street in reference to a report of a gunshot victim. The investigation revealed that two masked suspects entered a residence brandishing firearms.  The  suspects demanded money and in the process of the robbery, one victim was shot and another victim was battered by one of the suspects with a firearm.  The suspects fled from the residence on foot and have not been located.  The first suspect is a white male 5’7”-6’0” tall, wearing a ball cap, frameless glasses, a dark color sweatshirt with a hood and black shoes with red or pink laces.  The second suspect is a black male 6’0”-6’3” tall wearing a white and red bandana, a dark color sweatshirt with a hood, glasses with amber color lenses, a white ball cap and dark color shoes.   The victim is being treated at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale for non-life threatening injuries. Southern Illinois University Department of Public Safety officers and the Jackson County Ambulance Service assisted during the incident.  The investigation is ongoing.
