On February 16th at approximately 2:15 a.m. Carbondale Police Officers responded to the 300 block of S. Marion regarding a man threatening others with a handgun. Officers learned that Montavious Burton, 27, of Carbondale, entered a residence occupied by others and threatened them with a handgun. Burton eventually exited the residence and left in a car. During the investigation, Carbondale Police Officers located the vehicle and Burton. Officers arrested Burton and charged him with Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Use of Weapons, Disorderly Conduct, and Criminal Damage to Property. Burton posted the required bond and he has a pending Jackson County court date.
