CARBONDALE – Amtrak will begin work on a series of renovations, including plaza and ramp access improvements, at the Carbondale station, located at 401 S. Illinois Avenue, beginning the week of September 3.

The project will be done in two phases, but normal access to the station will be limited. Signs and safety cones will be in place during construction to guide passengers to the station and train platforms. One ADA path will remain open to and from station facilities. Everyone is encouraged to use caution and allow extra time to arrive at the station.

For reservations and train status information, visit Amtrak.com or call 1-800-872-7245.
