[ARCHIVED] Aggravated Battery Investigation

The City of Carbondale Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in a battery investigation.  On 06-29-2019 at approximately 12:26 a.m. officers responded to the 500 block of South Illinois Avenue in reference to a report of a battery.  Officers arrived and located two victims who reported being battered by unknown suspects while they were walking on the sidewalk in the area.  One suspect, picture below, was described as a black male wearing a yellow and black jacket.  Both victims were transported to the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale by ambulance where they were treated and released.  Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the police department at 618-457-3200 or Crime Stoppers at 618-549-COPS. The investigation into the incident is continuing.
