[ARCHIVED] Aggravated Battery with a Firearm

On 07-20-19 at approximately 3:40 a.m. Carbondale Police Officers responded to a parking lot in the 300 block of S University Ave. for a report of shots fired. The investigation revealed there was likely more than one suspect firing a weapon and one victim was shot multiple times. The victim was treated at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale Emergency Room for non-life threatening wounds. The investigation further revealed there was a second gunshot victim, who was likely shot at this same location. The second victim was also treated at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale for non-life threatening injuries. At this time there have been no arrests made regarding this incident and there is not any suspect information to provide. The SIU Police Department assisted on this call. The investigation is ongoing.
