[ARCHIVED] UPDATE - Hydrant Flushing

Hydrant flushing is suspended until Tuesday, May 7.

The Carbondale Fire Department will continue hydrant flushing on Tuesday, April 30. Crews will be working weekdays from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Hydrant flushing will occur at the following intersections:

  • Tower Road at Murphysboro Road going south
  • West of West Striegel Road both north and south of Route 13
  • East of Lewis Lane at East Walnut Street going north

Residents may notice a change in water pressure and possible discoloration. The water is safe to drink. However, if your water is discolored, wait a few hours before doing laundry. If you have water related questions, call (618) 529-1731.

Daily updates will be available on the Carbondale Fire Department’s website at www.carbondalefire.com, the City of Carbondale’s website at www.explorecarbondale.com as well as the City of Carbondale Fire Department’s Facebook page.
