Due to rain, hydrants were not flushed Thursday, April 18.
Due to the Good Friday holiday, hydrants will not be flushed on Friday, April 19.
The Carbondale Fire Department will continue hydrant flushing on Monday, April 22. Crews will be working weekdays from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Hydrant flushing will occur at the following intersections:
- West of North Oakland Avenue at West Sycamore Street going north
- Between North Oakland Avenue and North Illinois Avenue at West Walnut Street going north
- Between South Lewis Lane and South Giant City Road at East College Street going north
Residents may notice a change in water pressure and possible discoloration. The water is safe to drink. However, if your water is discolored, wait a few hours before doing laundry. If you have water related questions, call (618) 529-1731.
