[ARCHIVED] UPDATE - Hydrant Flushing

The Carbondale Fire Department will continue hydrant flushing on Thursday, April 11. Crews will be working weekdays from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Hydrant flushing will occur at the following intersections:

  • between South Glenview Drive and South Emerald Lane at West Freeman Street going north
  • between South Oakland Avenue and South University Avenue at West Walnut Street going north
  • between South Wall Street and South Lewis Lane at East College Street going north

Residents may notice a change in water pressure and possible discoloration. The water is safe to drink. However, if your water is discolored, wait a few hours before doing laundry. If you have water related questions, call (618) 529-1731.

Daily updates will be available on the Carbondale Fire Department’s website at www.carbondalefire.com, the City of Carbondale’s website at www.explorecarbondale.com as well as the City of Carbondale Fire Department’s Facebook page.
