On Saturday, March 30, 2019, at 11:45 p.m., two Carbondale police officers were on foot patrol in the 1200 block of West Hill when they heard a disturbance coming from a residence which was determined to be the Mayor’s home. The investigation revealed a disturbance was occurring between the Mayor and his wife. The officers remained at the scene until officers from the SIU Department of Public Safety responded to complete an independent investigation at the request of the Carbondale Police Department.
There were no arrests or charges filed and there were no injuries which required medical treatment. There is no further information to be released at this time. The investigation will be forwarded to the Jackson County States Attorney’s Office.
