Did you know 9 out of 10 car seats are installed incorrectly?
Common errors include:
- Not properly securing the seat into the vehicle
- Facing the child forward too soon
- Improper placement of harness straps
- Using a seat that is not appropriately sized for the child
While not all of these errors may lead to injury, in the event of a traffic crash, they increase the likelihood of injury.
In an effort to make sure child safety seats are installed correctly, the Carbondale Police Department offers free safety inspections.
