Trial Types or Fines

All City of Carbondale Ordinance Violations and Traffic Citations are prosecuted through the First Judicial Circuit Court in Murphysboro, Illinois. All first appearances, pay or appear court dates, bench trials, or jury trials will occur at the Jackson County Courthouse. All court fines are to be mailed to or delivered in person to the Jackson County Circuit Clerk, Jackson County Courthouse, Murphysboro, Illinois, which may be contacted at 618-687-7300.

Pay-By-Mail

Any eligible persons who wish to utilize the City of Carbondale's Pay-By-Mail administrative remedy for select ordinance violations must either make their payment in person at the Carbondale Police Department by mailing payment (no personal checks are accepted) to the Carbondale Police Department or by paying online. Community Service

Any eligible persons intending to utilize the Community Service administrative remedy for select ordinance violations must appear at the Carbondale City Attorney's Office to complete a Community Service application packet and pay the administrative fee.
