Water Quality Testing

The City of Carbondale is committed to protecting and maintaining the water quality of Cedar Lake. An essential part of water quality is conducting routine tests to establish baseline levels, which will allow the City to recognize potential water quality issues as they develop. In the past, the City ran a slate of monthly water tests on the lake and published the data below for interested people. Since there has been no change in lake water quality in several years, we are discontinuing the expanded monthly testing. Lake testing at the intake structure will continue daily, as we have always done in compliance with IEPA testing requirements. In the event of any water quality issues, additional testing will be reinstated as needed. Please get in touch with Lake Management if you have any questions or concerns about this data.
