The City of Carbondale’s Administrative Services Department is comprised of three divisions/offices: Human Resources Office, City Hall / Civic Center Division Conmmunity Services and supervises the Reception area as well.
The Human Resources Office focuses on employment, wages, employee benefits, personnel rules and regulations and labor contracts in order to achieve a productive City workforce. Services provided by the department include preparing and certifying biweekly payrolls, maintaining personnel files and records, conducting preemployment examinations and interviews, administering employee benefit programs and labor relations.
The Human Resources Office receives all applications for City employment including the applications for the positions of Police Officer and Fire Fighter. The Human Resources Office coordinates the process of screening applications for employment and scheduling and conducting interviews in order to fill job vacancies.
The Administrative Services Director serves as the Human Resources Manager.
