Preservation Commission

The Preservation Commission is responsible for:

  • Investigating and recommending to the City Council the adoption of ordinances designating certain properties as preservation and historic districts
  • Reviewing applications for properties under construction or demolition that reside within designated historic districts

Composition:

  • 9 voting members appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the Council consisting of: Not less than 7 members living inside City limits, 2 members residing within the City's zoning jurisdiction or residing outside the City but own real estate within the City
  • Members appoint Chair

Terms:

  • Three-year term
