  4. Carbondale City Hall Closed

    May 15, 2019, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

    Carbondale City Hall will be closed to the public for emergency preparedness training on Wednesday, May 15. Walk-in customer service will NOT be available on this day from 8am - 5pm. Emergency services will be available during the closure. Utility bill payments may be made online at the City's website, placed in the dropbox or in person the following day.   5. Fire Hydrant Flushing

    May 15, 2019, 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM

    Hydrant flushing will continue on Wednesday, May 15h. The Fire Department will include two crews working from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Hydrant flushing will occur at the following locations: • Between Robert A. Stalls Avenue and North Wall Street at Fisher Street going north • Dillinger Road and Bicentennial Park area • Hydrants on the east side not flushed initially Residents may notice a change in water pressure and possible discoloration. The water is safe to drink. However, if your water is discolored, wait a few hours before doing laundry. If you have water related questions, call (618) 529-1731. Daily updates will be available on the Carbondale Fire Department’s website at www.carbondalefire.com, the City of Carbondale’s website at www.explorecarbondale.com as well as the City of Carbondale Fire Department’s Facebook page.     In 1962, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15 falls, as National Police Week. Established by a joint resolution of Congress in 1962, National Police Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.
