Hydrant flushing will continue on Tuesday, May 14h. The Fire Department will include two crews working from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Hydrant flushing will occur at the following locations:
• Between Washington Street and Wall Street at East Sycamore Street going north
• East of Lewis Lane, north of East Mall Drive
Residents may notice a change in water pressure and possible discoloration. The water is safe to drink. However, if your water is discolored, wait a few hours before doing laundry. If you have water related questions, call (618) 529-1731.

In 1962, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15 falls, as National Police Week. Established by a joint resolution of Congress in 1962, National Police Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.
