Update-Home Invasion/ Aggravated Battery with a Firearm.

On 11-08-20 at approximately 9:30 pm, City of Carbondale Police Officers responded to the 500 block of South University Avenue regarding a female with a gunshot wound to her leg.  During the course of the investigation, detectives identified and arrested three of the suspects involved.  Detectives arrested Tyreiq L Buchanan for Home Invasion, Aggravated Battery with a Firearm and Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon.  Jason L Wooley was arrested for Home Invasion and Aggravated Robbery and Darius D Nelson was arrested for Home Invasion.  Buchanan, Wooley and Nelson were incarcerated in the Jackson County Jail.  Detectives are searching for a fourth suspect who is identified as Kerwin J.C. Watson, age 18, of Carbondale.  There is no photographic image of Watson available at this time.  Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Watson, or information about the incident is encouraged to contact the police department at 618-457-3200.  The investigation into the incident is active and ongoing.

Prior Release on 11-08-2020:

On 11-08-20 at approximately 9:30 pm, City of Carbondale Police Officers responded to the 500 block of South University Avenue regarding a victim with a gunshot wound to their leg.  The investigation revealed three male acquaintances known by the victim unlawfully entered the victim’s apartment and robbed the victim at gunpoint.  One of the suspects battered the victim and shot the victim in the leg. The victim had a non-life threatening wound and was later treated and released at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.  Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the City of Carbondale Police Department at (618) 457-3200.
