Responsibilities

The Finance Department is responsible for:

  • Conforming to legal requirements and generally accepted financial accounting principles
  • Helping to maintain a fiscally sound government organization
  • Managing the custody of all City assets
  • Managing of the City's investments
  • Overseeing the Accounting Division, Purchasing and Risk Management Division, Information Systems Division and Revenue Division
  • Preparing and executing the City's annual budget
  • Preparing the City's annual property tax levy
  • Providing financial advice to the City Manager, City Council and all departments
